Art is personal and the action taken.
Communication vs monologue and how people are overheard, fascinates me and often inspires pieces. By using space in a confined or expanded way, though the finite/bounded, my pieces become a conversation of two people.
As our world and environment become increasingly degraded, I struggle with the materials I use. Fibre, mainly wool, became a safe place to explore and build a community. It has been a place to discover more about our agricultural and purchasing problems and successes. It is a place of play and communion with other species.
Knitting has always been both conservative and subversive. Growing a knit pattern business has taken me to people I might not have met. Now, my struggle is to find a way to converse between my performance/painting/sculpture and fibre.
