Barn quilts are traditionally painted on wood panels and used to adorn farm buildings along many rural roads. I chose the star design because it is a universal symbol and it hearkens to my knitting experience. In this version, I juxtaposed the painted panel and the weaving with different fibres to feature the diversity of textures and sources as well as the traditional origins of the piece.
